Women Going To Burial Ceremony Drown!

Now i know why my mother was fond of chatting up the bus driver whenever we were on a long journey She would talk about the government, sea, road, cat, food, music and the sky. She would chat uncontrollably between brief pauses and roasted plantain until we got to our location.


This news is reportedly of a commercial bus conveying about thirty three women who were on a burial trip from Lagos to Benin. The bus plunged into River J4, near Ogbere on the Ijebu-Ode-Ore Expressway on Friday because the driver slept off.

The Head of Operation of the FRSC in Ogun, Mrs Cecilia Alao, said that the accident occurred at about 12 noon.

As you read this, the exact number of passengers and the registration number of the vehicle is yet to be ascertained.

The FRSC head of operations, who described the rescue operation as difficult, said that the command engaged the services of local divers who helped to rescued three of the passengers.

A crane was reportedly hired to pull the vehicle from the river but after trying from 12 p.m to 6 p.m, they could not find the bus and other victims apart from the three.

Alao said that the three survivors had been taken to hospital at Ore in Ondo State.
