There has been a bomb blast at the St. Rita's Catholic Church in  Ungwar Yero  area of Kaduna metropolis.

The attack was reported to have happened around 8:50 AM during the morning mass. It was gathered that the officiating priest was seriously injured.

Taraba State Governor In A Plane Crash!

Tonight the Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai was on board a small plane that crashed. 

A statement by the Ministry of Aviation said six persons were rescued from the aircraft with varying degrees of injuries.

However the governor was said to be the only casualty of the crash at the Yola Airport while two others survived. We hope not!

Breaking News: A Gunman Shoots 8 People In Wisconsin!

This gunman identified as Radcliffe Franklin Haughton, 45, of Brown Deer has killed three and wounded four in a Spa in Winsconsin.

He was later found dead within the spa from self inflicted injuries. The cause of this rage is been calculated as, may be a domestic related dispute to someone within the spa.

The man they identified as the suspect had a restraining order against him prior to the shooting.

The shooting happened about 11 a.m. at the Azana Day Spa, a two-story, 9,000-square-foot building across from a major shopping mall in Brookfield, a middle-to-upper class community west of Milwaukee.

Hours later, a bomb squad descended on the building, and an improvised explosive device was found inside.

Wife Of Tai Solarin Passes On..

Sheila, the widow of the late social critic, Tai Solarin has died today.

Sheila  (Nee Tuer), was co-founded Mayflower School, Ikenne, Ogun State with her late husband, passed on around 4.30p.m.

She was reportedly hospitalised and underwent surgery for a broken hip some months ago after sustaining a fall. Her two children were at her bedside when she died at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State.

She was eighty-two.

Woman Stabbed To Death One Day Before Wedding!

Vindalee Smith, 38, was found on the floor of her apartment in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn with a gaping wound in her neck. It wasn’t clear how long she’d been dead before the body was discovered by her landlord. Her unborn child did not survive.

There was no sign of forced entry, and no weapon was recovered, police said. Investigators are looking for a possible suspect. They interviewed her friends and family, and spoke to her fiance.

“I can’t even begin to imagine who would want to do that,” her friend, Sybil Samuel, told local newspapers. “It would be the devil, to kill a woman with a child in her stomach. They killed two people.”

Smith had four children in their teens and 20s, friends said. A baby shower had been planned for Saturday evening, followed by a small wedding Sunday. Friends told reporters that Smith had met her fiance about a year ago.

Smith was a devout Seventh-Day Adventist and attended New Dimension Church, where she was supposed to get married. Congregation members were concerned when she didn’t show up for morning service.

“She was always on time, always the first person at church,” Tyler Harrigan told the Daily News of New York. “When the news came to the church, the whole church broke down. We started to bawl. All the children were crying.”

Explosion Rattles Mubi!

Barely weeks after the massacre of over 40 university students, an explosion has rattled the grounds of Mubi, Adamawa.

Eyewitness account said that the explosion which was targeted at the patrol vehicle of the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) occurred at a popular market, Kasuwan Kuturu, few meters to the general hospital on Wednesday.

The eyewitness stated that the explosion occurred at about 8 O'clock in the morning and he saw scores of people been rushed to the hospital.

The charge against them read: "You, Alhaji Hassan Walewa, 59 years, ex-sergeant, Lucky Orji, 43, Lawal Segun, 28, Cynthia Chinwo, 24, George Nwadei, 20 , Ekpe Daniel, 30 years old, Okoghiroh Endurance, 24, Gabriel Oche, 33, Ozioma Abajuo, 23, Endurance Edet, 27, Ikechukwu Louis Amadi (aka Kapoon), 32, David Chinasa Ogboda, 30, Chigozie Evans Samuel, 22 years, and others at large, on October 5, 2012, at Omuokiri, Aluu community, in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: murder and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 324 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 laws of Rivers State, 1999.

"On the same date and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did murder one Ugonna Obuzor by lynching and burning him to death and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code cap 37 volume 111 laws of Rivers State, 1999."

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a sergeant identified as Lucky Orji, who was allegedly involved in the gruesome murder of the students, following the confessions of one of the arrested suspects who claimed that a policeman was part of the mob.
The sergeant was dismissed for ordering the mob to kill the students.

Mr. Frank Mba, the Force Public Relations Officer, while speaking yesterday on Channels TV, named the dismissed sergeant as Lucky Orji. He stated that the Nigeria Police Force had carried out their investigations and dismissed the 'named' sergeant.
Mba said the dismissed police officer and another officer were alleged to have stumbled upon the angry mob beating the students.

Posh Beans & Plantain

When your man  family begs you to make beans and plaintain. Why dont you surprise them and make this version, awaaaaay from the regular palmoil dish.

 

Ingredients:
1. Firm Ripe Plantains-2 large fingers
2. Vegetable oil-Enough for deep frying
3. Carrots-3 medium sticks
4. Scallions(Spring Onions)-6
5. Green peppers-1 huge bell
4. Habaneros/Cameron Pepper-4 bells or more grinded
5. Onions- 1 huge bulb diced
6. Soft Chicken-4 pieces
7. Salt-To taste
8. Maggi Chicken Cubes-2 cubes
9. Mixed herbs (Optional)
10. Green Peas-4 cooking spoons

How To:
1. Place chicken into a medium size pot and crush 2 cubes of Maggi on it. Add a sprinkle of chopped onions, the peas and the Cameron pepper paste. Add half a cup of water and set to boil. Allow to cook till done.

2. Add the carrots, green pepper, mixed herbs some more water and the scallions to the boiling pot. Add a cooking spoon of vegetable oil to the mix. Stir and cover. Allow to cook for 7 minutes.

3. Slice the plantain and salt it slightly. Deep fry the slices in hot oil till golden yellow or brown.

He will be contacting the FBI on Monday to help him track down the person who leaked his sex tape to the media.

The wrestler had previously attempted to file a police report in Florida but local police couldn't help him because the tape was recorded in 2006, the four-year statute of limitations had expired on the offense of unlawfully recording Hulk without his permission.

And because distributing the illegal footage to the media had crossed state lines, so it's a federal responsibility not a local one.

Sales Girl Shot Dead By Policeman

Federal Capital Territory Police Command has commenced investigation into the killing of a 20-year old sales girl, Lucy, who was shot dead by policemen from the Special Anti-robbery Squad in Abuja on Friday.

Lucy was inside a photography shop at Apo area of Abuja where she worked as a sales girl when she was hit in the chest by bullets fired by the policemen who were enforcing the demolition of illegal structures by officials of development control department.

The deceased, who was brought from Cross River to work as sales girl, had only spent a month before the ugly incident, according to her employee, Emeka Ani.

Three others sustained gunshot wounds when the policemen from the FCT Police Command allegedly fired bullets indiscriminately in an attempt to enforce the demolition order of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council.

The residents of the area had resisted moves to carry out the demolition exercise, leading to a confrontation and sporadic gunshots by policemen.

FCT  Police Public Relations Officer, Doris England, said the Criminal Investigation Department had commenced investigation into the incident, adding that the policemen on duty at the demolition site would be interrogated to know what transpired.

“By Monday or Tuesday, the CID would have interrogated the policemen and the development control officials to know what happened on that day. I cannot give any update until the conclusion of investigation,” she said on Saturday.

SUNDAY PUNCH gathered that the shootings that led to the death of Lucy and gunshot injuries by three other persons at the demolition site were the result of pressure on the AMMC officials by the FCT Administration.

FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, had held a meeting with FCT officials on October 2, 2012 where he complained that the FCT had been taken over by sex hawkers, beggars and illegal structures. He had threatened to sack any official that failed to take his job seriously.

Our correspondent learnt that the AMMC officials were afraid they might lose their jobs if they failed to demolish the shanties and other illegal structures at Apo, hence the recourse to the use of force by the policemen attached to the demolition team.

The minister had warned the officials that he would not tolerate incompetence and inefficiency, stressing that “the tea party is over.”

Gunmen Open Fire On Worshippers In Kaduna Mosque, kill 20

Punch Newspapers has news that gunmen opened fire on Muslim worshippers as they were leaving a mosque in northern Nigeria on Sunday, killing at least 20 people, a local official said.

The attack happened in a remote village called Dogo Dawa, in Kaduna State, said Abdullahi Muhammad, the traditional ruler and councillor of Birnin Gwari, a local government area next door to the village, Reuters reports.

The police commissioner Olufemi Adenaike confirmed the incident, but did not give a death toll.
Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, it follows a trend by extremist Boko Haram sect, which has been behind deadly attacks on churches

Dr. Ngozi Okokjo Iweala Launches Book

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Nigeria’s powerful minister of finance has launched a book, “Reforming the Un-reformable: Lessons from Nigeria”, on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in Tokyo, Japan.

Mother Of Twins Commits Suicide

A few days after she was delivered of a set of twins, a Nigerian woman, Shekinat Abdurazaq, 27, committed suicide when she jumped into the Osun River in Ede, Western Nigeria.
The suicide was committed in full glare at about 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday, on the Osun River Bridge on the Oke Gada Road.

The News Agency of Nigeria said the woman, who hailed from Ede in Osun, delivered the twins 11 days ago.
Witnesses said before Shekinat jumped into the river, she reportedly prayed and gave alms to beggars around the bridge head.

One of the witnesses, who identified himself as Selia Mojeed, said people did not know that Abdurazaq wanted to commit suicide, else they would have prevented her from doing so.
Although efforts to speak with her husband failed, it was said that the woman had no outstanding problems with her spouse, family or neighbours before the incident.
Efforts by sympathisers and passersby to rescue the woman failed as she was said to have drowned immediately.

Shortly after the incident, her husband also attempted to jump into the river. He was prevented from doing so by bystanders.
The police later whisked away the deceased’s husband and placed him under safe custody at the Police “A” Division in Ede.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident.

Nelly Speaks Up

Nelly is speaking out about the drug bust on his tour bus this morning saying he had no clue the vehicle was loaded down with heroin and marijuana. *Yimu*

Nelly tells TMZ, “It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning."

As TMZ first reported, police in Sierra Blanca, Texas say they found 36 baggies of heroin, more than 10 pounds of weed, and a loaded .45 caliber pistol. We're told a passenger on the bus, Brian Keith Jones, was arrested after admitting the drugs and the weapon were his.

Nelly adds, "Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials did not  press charges against anyone other than that individual.”

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ field tests of the drugs in the baggies confirmed it was heroin -- but sources close to Nelly claim it was Molly ... aka pure ecstasy.
